Job Description
We are looking for an experienced ABA Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of students at all times.
  • Implement ABA to teach developmentally appropriate functional skills based on the treatment plan developed by BCBA.
  • Work with individual students or small groups within the school environment.
  • Responsible for regular upkeep of materials, and student documentation.
  • Professionally interact with parents and others.
  • Assist learners with health and hygiene practices.
  • Participate in staff meetings and mandatory in-service training.
  • Receive passing scores on ongoing competency evaluations.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Compassionate, energetic, and dedicated to Persons of Determination.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Behavior Sciences, Education, or equivalent field.
  • Certified RBT, IBT, or ABAT.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication.
  • Organization and Professionalism.
  • Ability to lift 15kg/30 lbs. (to lift a child).
  • At least 2 years experience as an ABA Therapist in a clinic or school.
  • 2 recent professional references.
  • Dubai Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Occupational Health Card.

TRAINEE BEHAVIOUR TECHNICIAN

Reports To: The Trainee Behaviour Technician will report to the Centre Supervisor and Centre Manager.

Job Overview

The role of Trainee Behaviour Technician involves participating in a 3-month training programme, gradually assuming the role of a Behaviour Technician. The Trainee will shadow the Centre Supervisor in direct therapy provision, assisting with feeding and cleaning, playground duty, group activity preparation and delivery, and preparation of teaching materials. Over the course of the 3-month training program the trainee will begin to deliver direct therapy under the training and direct supervision of the Centre Supervisor. The trainee will also undertake indirect training modules and assessment with the Centre Manager. Progress and promotion to Behaviour Technician will be measured by quizzes and competency assessments.

Qualifications

  • Third level education required. Qualification in psychology, education, child care preferred.
  • Experience working with children with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • RBT certification is preferred and must be obtained within the first 6-months of employment.

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Shadow the Centre Supervisor in all daily duties.
  • Provide direct client care, according to the trainee program schedule, in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of discrete trial teaching and natural environment teaching arrangements. 
  • Follow the prescribed behavioural skill acquisition and behaviour reduction protocols.
  • Record data on skill acquisition programmes and behaviour targeted for reduction.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Centre Supervisor and Centre Manager. 
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handing procedures when working with clients. 
  • Maintain client confidentiality. 
  • Assist Centre Manager, Centre Supervisor and Behaviour Technicians with skill acquisition and behaviour reduction assessments. 
  • Assist Centre Manager, Centre Supervisor and Behaviour Technicians in preparing client materials as instructed. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge and skills by achieving passing scores on training quizzes and competency assessments.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 20kg
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to respond neutrally to children engaging in challenging behaviour
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly. 
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members. 
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board. 
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standard. 
  • Must maintain a professional appearance regarding clothing, grooming, hair, and make-up.
