Inclusive Education Program
Empower students with personalized learning strategies through our tailored Inclusive Education Plan (IEP) resources. Access expert tools, track progress, and support academic success for every unique learner.
The Small Steps Big Dreams Inclusion Program is designed to provide children with autism and developmental delays the opportunity to learn and grow in supportive, structured environments that promote meaningful social interactions and skill development, within the mainstream school environment. Through constant collaboration with the host School Inclusion Team, our program focuses on individualized inclusion strategies that help children participate successfully in mainstream educational and social settings, while receiving daily ABA intervention and individualized support within the school day.
The 1:1 Behavior Therapist plays a vital role in supporting a student’s participation in the mainstream classroom by providing individualized assistance across multiple areas. They help the student actively participate in lessons and classroom activities by adapting tasks to match their skill level, ensuring engagement while maintaining inclusion with peers. Through structured interventions, the therapist fosters social skill development, guiding the student in appropriate peer interactions, turn-taking, and cooperative learning with peers. They also provide academic support, modifying curriculum materials, simplifying instructions, and utilizing specialized teaching methods to promote comprehension while encouraging cooperation in following teacher instructions. Additionally, they implement focus and attention strategies, such as visual cues, movement breaks, and reinforcement techniques, helping the student maintain concentration and regulate behaviors effectively. By closely collaborating with the school Inclusion Team, and integrating therapeutic strategies within the classroom, the Behavior Therapist ensures the student experiences meaningful learning and social inclusion while developing greater independence in both academic and social settings.
Our Inclusion Program integrates:
Behavior Analyst Supervision
Each student’s individual ABA and School Inclusion program is overseen by a Case Supervisor. All Case Supervisors at Small Steps hold advanced degrees inEducation, Applied Behavior Analysis, or Psychology, andare certified through internationally recognized regulatory organizations, such as the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), International Behavior Analysis Organization (IBAO), and the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA). Case Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the ABA therapy, School Inclusion and learning support programs, ensuring interventions are designed to build essential communication and social skills based on the individual developmental stage of each student. Through regular Parent Clinical Meetings and Parent Training events, parents are coached by the Case Supervisor in strategies to support their child’s progress in the home.
